We use the best parts of established programs for the care of people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia illnesses. We know that we can make personal and relevant connections with the people we serve.

We believe that caring for the person, life and spirit is the way it should be done, not just a slogan. We believe that the care we provide is not just about structured activities but what goes on between structured activities. We are less task oriented. We enjoy the moment. We live in the moment.

• Providing quality dementia care in a safe and welcoming environment.
• All Big Meadows staff receive specialized training in dementia care.
• Big Meadows provides education and support for family members.
• Connections Unit staff consists of a Unit Director, an Activity Director, a Licensed Nurse and Certified Nursing Assistants who receive expanded specialized training in dementia care.

 
Connections is recognized as an Alzheimer's Special Care Unit by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
